Clear-felling and timber harvesting on steep terrain has always been a challenge. But just like felling and harvesting in any selected area, steep ground harvesting allows for further crop rotation on timber production sites, as well as restoration of heathland, or clearance for development.

With access to specialist forestry machinery ideally suited to steep ground, including harvesters and excavators with winching capabilities, our team can ensure all steep groundwork is carried out safely and efficiently.
As part of our steep ground harvesting services, depending on the type of site and terrain, we can often remove any windrowed brash material (known as lop & top) which has been left to rot on site. In clearing this material for you, it can be used in the biomass fuel industry, adding a potential second source of income for you.
And by managing and supervising your steep harvest from start to finish, our on-site steep ground team will work directly with you, and within the guidance provided by UKWAS and FISA, to minimise any soil disturbance and environmental impact.
